Police cited a Lansing man with transporting an unsafe load in connection to a crash that occurred on Route 31 near Birmingham. The crash closed the road and blocked up traffic for hours.
The driver, of Lansing, was cited after the semitrailer he was driving overturned. The truck overturned after exiting Route 30 around 7:15 in the morning. The intersection of Routes 30 and 31 was closed. In addition, authorities evacuated at least one business in the area as the truck was carrying an assortment of “dangerous chemicals.”
80 firefighters from 15 departments responded to the scene.
