Katy McCallum is the most recent driver to collide with an 18 wheeler at the intersection of RM 967 and Main Street in Buda, Texas. On Monday afternoon, the pregnant real estate agent was driving down 967 when her car, containing her sister and three young nieces, colliding with a truck that was trying to turn onto Main Street. This intersection has a confusing design, and many drivers do not expect commercial trucks to be making right turns from the left-hand lane. McCallum’s is the third accident that police have investigated at this intersection this year. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured this time.
Town officials say they have no control over the design of the intersection, as it is state property.
