In the early morning hours of June 28, a motorcyclist was killed after he crashed into an 18-wheeler in north Houston. The accident occurred around 4 a.m. in the 19800 block of Holzwarth. It is believed that the driver of the 18-wheeler was making a wide right turn onto Meadow Edge, when the truck was struck on the right side by a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. The motor cyclist was speeding down and lost control. He slammed into the 18-wheeler; the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.
A female passenger, riding on the motorcycle, was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. The driver of the truck was not injured. The cause of the accident is not known and is being investigated.
