September 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Dallas - All lanes were closed on a busy Frisco road after a tanker truck hauling diesel fuel overturned in the early morning.  Traffic lanes were reopened by 9am in time for the late morning work rush.

The accident involved no other vehicles.  The tanker overturned after veering off the roadway and landing in a ditch.

It carried a driver and one passenger in the cab.  Both riders were injured, however the extent and severity of their injuries was not immediately known.  The driver and passenger were taken to separate hospitals.

The tanker that overturned can carry up to 1700 gallons of diesel fuel.  The fuel in the truck had to be offloaded into two trucks and carried off by crews.

The police are still working to determine the cause of the accident.
